Why call for proposals?

As part of Pro-Santé, we will be launching calls for proposals to mobilize a wide range of players around innovative sustainable healthcare solutions. These calls are designed to encourage multi-sector collaboration, experimentation with new approaches and the development of projects with measurable, sustainable impact.

Our approach is inspired by the Lighthouse model, which has proved its effectiveness in Denmark in structuring healthcare ecosystems capable of responding to major challenges such as obesity and mental health. By involving partners from a variety of backgrounds – researchers, companies, different levels of government, communities and public institutions – we aim to accelerate the emergence of solutions tailored to Quebec’s needs.

Each call for proposals is part of this drive to create leverage by encouraging evidence-based solutions that are open to innovation. Over the course of the project, thematic calls will be launched to address different dimensions of sustainable health.

Ongoing calls for proposals

Childhood Obesity Solutions Program (SOI)

The Program for Solutions in Childhood Obesity (SOI) aims to mobilize a wide range of multi-sectoral partners to reduce the burden of chronic disease and contribute to sustainable health goals. The first issue addressed is childhood obesity, a serious risk factor for young people’s health and a major societal challenge.

We invite the research community to collaborate with a wide range of players:

  • Companies
  • Community organizations
  • Early childhood and education milieus
  • Municipal decision-makers
  • Families and many others

The aim is to work together to develop innovative solutions that will have a lasting impact on a defined population or community.

How the program works

Stage 1: Team selection

  • 4 multi-stakeholder teams (including researchers and a variety of stakeholders: health, early childhood, urban planning, industry, communities, etc.) will be selected.
  • Each team will receive $25,000 to co-construct a project proposal.

Stage 2: Project selection

  • Projects with the greatest potential impact will be selected.
  • Funding of up to $250,000 per team will be awarded to implement the solutions.
